Synopsis

Based on true events. In 1983, Poland is shaken by the case of high school student Grzegorz Przemyk, who is beaten to death by communist police. Jurek Popiel, only witness of the beating, becomes the number one enemy of the state. The oppressive regime used its whole apparatus – the secret service, militia, the media and the courts – to find and silence Jurek, including his parents and Przemyk’s mother, Barbara.
